During the 2020/2021 school year, most post-secondary schools are hosting online information sessions that you can attend from the comfort of your home.  We encourage you to register for these events so you can learn about the many opportunities available to you after Grade 12.   Several of these sessions are open to parents too!

Canada Ivy Plus Student Sessions
These student sessions will include very brief introductions from the schools in attendance (Brown, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, University of Pennsylvania, Yale), a discussion around the liberal arts, residential life, admissions, and financial aid, as well as the impact of COVID-19 on the admissions process this year, plus ample time for questions submitted by the audience either prior or during the event. The UVIC School of Health Information Science invites students to learn more about this exciting field by talking with our faculty and students. Join the virtual open house to learn more about the rapidly expanding field of information technology in healthcare! We will also be doing a prize draw during the session!  The world is becoming increasingly reliant on the use of information technology in health care delivery. The School of Health Information Science has the most comprehensive and established undergraduate program in the study of health informatics in Canada, offering two programs including a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Science and a Combined Major in Computer Science and Health Information Science. Individuals graduate with a BSc degree, and benefit from excellent employment opportunities with starting salaries typically above $55,000 per year.

The U of A is hosting virtual sessions throughout the fall as a replacement for traditional in-school presentations. Students will learn all about the U of A, including programs, scholarship opportunities, events and experiences, how to apply, and more!

NCAA information session for Canadian student-athletes

EducationUSA hosts guest speaker Elizabeth Thompson, NCAA Associate Director of International Education and Outreach, as she will review the NCAA eligibility process for Canadian students. The session will be about 45 minutes with plenty of time for Q&A.    EducationUSA information sessions are free of charge.

UBC Medical Program Info Session

Medical Student Outreach Program
This is a special session just for EMCS students (and parents)!
Are you interested in learning more about becoming a doctor?  This session is for you!
Current medical students will share their experience regarding med school and talk to you about a career as a doctor.
Open to all students (Grade 9 to 12) and parents/guardians!

VIU is hosting three Experience VIU online events:

This event is for everyone! Anyone interested in post-secondary studies should attend—from high school students and their parents, to those who have been out of school awhile and are ready to explore their options.

48 post-secondaries from across Canada will be available to BC high school students to answer questions and provide information. These sessions are Q&A style – presentations will not be offered. Students are encouraged to drop in and ask questions to representatives from institutions.
In order to access the event, students must register at cuebc.org. Students who registered for CUE in Fall 2020 can continue to use the same login information to access CUE in winter through cuebc.org.

UBC Faculty of Dentistry Info Session for Aboriginal Students
February 9, 2021 from 5:30pm to 7:00pm
Join this info session to learn about Dental Hygiene & Dentistry programs at UBC Faculty of  Dentistry, the application process, and what support is offered to Aboriginal students at UBC.  During this online session you’ll have an opportunity to hear form and interact wtih:

– Oral health practitioners within Indigenous communities

Camosun College CAMWEEK 2021
February 23, 24, 25 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm
CamWeek 2021 is a series of virtual information sessions.  Over the 3-nights there will be presentations from the Centre for Sport & Exercise Education, School of Access, School of Arts & Science, School of Business, School of Health & Human Services and School of Trades & Technology. The schedule will vary each night so that students have the option to attend multiple sessions. There will be an opportunity to live chat with an Admissions officer each night.
