The Core Program was established to support students who have struggled with the core academic courses. This program is designed to help students acquire the basic skills and knowledge to complete academic courses using a self-paced model with a focus on teaching AVID strategies. The CORE program offers instruction in English 10, Social Studies 10, and Science 10. Students are expected to complete a course in one semester but in special circumstances the time can be extended to two semesters. Selection of students is based on recommendations from counsellors, teachers and administrators.

Learning About Learning is a course for students who require additional support and practice to enhance their learning and success in school. This course provides students the opportunity to begin to develop work ethic, study skills, and learning strategies COURSE NOTE: Permission from Counsellor and/or Student Support Services is required to take this course. CREDIT: 4 TYPE: Learning Support GRADE: 9-10

Peer Tutoring is a course that prepares students to provide assistance to other students in the school. Students will work under the supervision of a Peer Tutor teacher while providing guidance and assistance in one on one and small group settings. Peer Tutors will develop skills in collaboration, learning strategies, communication, interpersonal relations, and leadership. This course provides students the opportunity to gain experience in supporting others and contributing to their school community.
Course Note: Permission from Counsellor and/or Student Support Services is required to take this course. Students must have consistent attendance, a strong work ethic, and be self-motivated.
