ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND MARKETING 10 (MADEM10)
Social entrepreneurship is a rapidly developing field of business in which entrepreneurs are using business methods to help solve social and environmental challenges. Through guest speakers, case discussion, lecture and student presentations and projects this course will explore this emerging field. Students will learn what a social enterprise is and how it is the same as well as different from other types of business. Students will be expected to develop a business plan summary and investment ‘pitch’ to scale a social enterprise. Because the field of social entrepreneurship is interdisciplinary and in its infancy, the course will be introductory in nature. Learning in this course will connect with several areas of the school and community and include the collaborative creation of school based businesses.
